Amalgamation Set to Proceed

Progress towards the amalgamation of the administration of men’s and women’s golf in Victoria is set to go to the next stage.

The Women’s Golf Victoria Board and the Victorian Golf Association Council have agreed on a model for amalgamation that is to be recommended to members. Consultation over the model will begin in February. Over the next three months members will be asked to provide feedback on the recommended structure through meetings of WGV District Delegates, the VGA Country Conference and a series of open forums that will be held in regional centres around the state and in Melbourne, giving everyone an opportunity for input. It is envisaged that a formal vote on amalgamation will occur during the latter half of this year. Click here to view the model.

2010 State Junior Team announced

Four players will be making their junior debut for Victoria during the 2010 Australian Boys Interstate Teams Matches to be played at the Launceston Golf Club from Sunday 18^th to Wednesday 21^st April following the announcement of the Victorian Junior State Team by VGA Selection Committee Chairman Brian Lasky.

Kingston Heaths Su-Hyun Oh shot a great five under par round of 67 today to take out the girls section of the VGA Junior Summer Competition at Latrobe Golf Club. The boys winner was James Cooper from Sanctuary Lakes with 73 on countback from Sheppartons Ashley Blake. Click here to read more.
