A host of
Australia’s best senior professionals and amateurs have
already entered the inaugural Victorian Senior Open to be played at The
Dunes over 54-holes from Wednesday 9th to Friday
11th April.
Renowned professionals Rodger
Davis, Brian Jones and David Good are already confirmed starters for the
event. They’ll be joined by amateurs such as 2001 Victorian Senior
Amateur Champion Michael Jackson and Queensland’s Vern Scott.
Offering a prizemoney of $30,000
for the professionals and prizes for the best performed amateurs in both
the stroke and handicap categories, the Victorian Senior Open is further
evidence of the growing interest in senior golf both within
Victoria and around the country.
Amateur eligibility requires
players to be aged 50 and over as of the first day of the Championship
and hold a handicap of 18 and under. Entries close as of Friday March
28th. However post entries may be accepted until a capacity
field is achieved.
All players will compete in the
first two rounds before the field is cut to the leading 60 players plus
ties for the final 18 holes. The entry fee for the Championship is $132
that includes a complementary cocktail party on the Tuesday prior to the
opening round. An entry form is available via the below link.
