VGA Pennant
VGA Pennant is a club teams competition which
commenced in 1899 between five clubs – Royal Melbourne, Geelong,
Surrey Hills (now Riversdale), Essendon (now Northern) & Kew. In
2010, Pennant is a club teams match play competition between 44 Member
Clubs of the VGA. The 44 clubs are separated into six Divisions in
accordance with finishing positions of the preceding season and
condition 16 below. The VGA Pennant Season consists of “round
robin” contests between respective clubs in each Division.
Newly affiliated Member Clubs participating in
Pennant for the first time or Member Clubs returning to Pennant after an
absence are to be allocated to Division 6 for their inaugural
season.
