VGF Projects and Programs

 

Commencing from 1996, the VGF has made grants each year to assist a wide range of development initiatives among clubs, District Associations and associated bodies.  The main areas of projects and programs include:

 

Junior Development

  • Start-up programs and clinics for schools
  • Promotion of Go Go Golf (modified golf) to introduce the sport to young people
  • Instructional clinics, camps, coaching and squads for all ability levels
  • Junior club membership support, tournaments and competitions
  • Travel and coaching support for remote or disadvantaged groups
  • Scholarships to assist talented young players

 

 

Adult Participation

  • Try Golf clinics for beginners
  • Club and community clinics for middle and high handicap players and under-represented groups
  • Parent and grandparents clinics with their children
  • Masters tournaments and competitions

 

Public Relations

  • Community promotions and publicity
  • Lobbying and communications support for club programs
  • Expo’s, exhibitions and displays
  • Media exposure

 

Special Projects

 

  • Projects which protect or advance golf and make it accessible and enjoyable for Victorians

 

Research and Development

  • Surveys, statistics and profiles on golf demand and participation levels, club membership, facility usage
  • Golf industry and golf marker awareness and development
  • Turf management and environment quality
  • Personal development scholarships for golf industry employees and volunteers
  • Golf education audio-visuals and resources
