The Geoff Ogilvy Trophy (formerly known as the Junior Ivo Whitton Trophy), is the premier player award for junior amateur golfers (those aged under 18 years as at the 1^st January with a handicap of 10 or less) in Victoria. The trophy is played throughout the entire year and is awarded to the player who has the lowest scoring average in ‘Geoff Ogilvy Trophy’ events.

Players aged between 14 and 15 as at the 1^st of January and with a handicap of 16 or less will be eligible to join the VGolf Under 16 Circuit and players aged under 14 with a handicap of 20 or less will be eligible to join the Under 14 Circuit, both of which are components of the Geoff Ogilvy Trophy. The player who has the lowest scoring average in these age categories at the end of the year will be awarded the Geoff Ogilvy Under 16 Award and Geoff Ogilvy Under 14 Award respectively.

It should be noted that the Golf Victoria Junior Selection Committee heavily take into consideration a players’ Geoff Ogilvy Trophy ranking when selecting State Teams and Development Squads such as the Under 16 and Under 14 Squad so if you are hoping to apply for these squads don’t forget to enter!
