Rules of Golf

The VGA provides the following membership services in relation to the Rules of Golf:

  • Rules Enquiries and Adjudication

The VGA conducts a rules enquiries service for affiliated golf clubs and Country District Golf Associations. Clubs wishing to submit rules enquiries should do so in writing to the VGA Office at 15 Bardolph St, Burwood, Victoria, 3125 or by Email or fax 9889 1077.

Queries will be answered in writing after review by the VGA’s Rules Committee.

  • Rules Education
    Regular golf rules education sessions are conducted at the VGA office  for golfers and at clubs for club groups when requested.  Contact the VGA for details
  • Accreditation of Rules Officials

       Participants in golf rules education courses conducted by the VGA can elect to become accredited as Golf Rules Officials by taking an examination for Club Level accreditation and/or progressing to further training and State Level accreditation.  See Rules Accreditation      

  • Rules books and Resource Materials

       The VGA distributes to clubs Rules of Golf booklets supplied every four years by the Royal & Ancient  Golf Club of St Andrews.  In addition, the VGA maintains a library of other literature, videos and resource materials to assist with rules education and the administration of the rules of golf.
