2009 Victorian Country Teams - Entry Conditions
1. Events
EVENT NO.1 - 54 Hole Teams
Stableford Event
(Teams for eligible clubs to consist of 3
players).
All scores over 54 holes to count. The winning club will
receive the 2009 Victorian Country Teams Championship Flag.
A trophy will also be presented to each member of the
winning team. Players in the winning team
are ineligible for other trophies.
EVENT NO.2 - 54 Hole Individual
Stableford Event
Conducted in conjunction with Event No.1
Trophy to be awarded to the player with best 54 hole individual
stableford score.
EVENT NO.3 - 36 Hole Individual
Stableford Event
Conducted on the Saturday of competition
Trophy to be awarded to the player with the best 36 hole
individual stableford score.
EVENT NO.4 - 18 Hole Individual
Stableford Event
Conducted on the Sunday of competition
Trophy to be awarded to the player with the best 18 hole
individual stableford score.
N.B. Competing players are limited
to one trophy.
All ties are to be determined by the Golf Australia Count-back
System.
2. Teams
Teams to
consist of 3 players who are all bona-fide members of the designated
club that they are representing.
3. Championship Committee
The
Championship Committee for the event shall consist of representatives of
the Host Club, VGA Council/Staff Members and the host District
Association. In the absence of a full
Committee, such members thereof as may be present at the time may give a
decision and any such decision so given shall be deemed to be a decision
of the full Committee. The Committee shall
have the entire management of the competitions with full power to alter
or vary the conditions.
4. Amateur Status
The entrants
must be amateur golfers in accordance with the Rules of Amateur Status
as approved by the R & A Rules Limited.
5. Rules
The Rules of
Golf, as adopted by R & A Rules Limited will apply together with
such Local Rules as are in force on the course over which the
competition takes
place.
6. Eligibility
Every
competitor must be an Amateur Golfer and a bona-fide member of a country
club affiliated with the V.G.A. and with a District Golf
Association. If a competitor, resident
in Victoria, has his
permanent and principal place of residence in the Melbournemetropolitan
area, and thus outside the boundary of a District Golf Association, he
shall be ineligible if he is a member of a Member Club.
If resident outside Victoria, he must have his permanent and principal
place of residence within 40 kilometres of the boundaries of the said
State. Competitors may only be nominated by
clubs selected by their District Golf Association. No club shall have more than one team competing.
Each team may name an emergency player who may play in
lieu of any team member who is unavailable on the date of the
event.
7. Entries
All
entries must be forwarded to the Victorian Golf
Association. There will be no entry fee,
other than the accommodation and meals subsidy.
8. Handicap Limit
The event is
open to players with an Australian Handicap. Players must play from
their current handicaps during the event.
9. Draw & Starting Times
A draw
for each day’s play will be made by the Committee.
The Committee has the power to amend the
draw. In the event of bad weather or for any
other reason, the Committee may either shorten the competition or
appoint another day or days for its completion. Competitors must report to the Registration Desk no later than
20 minutes prior to the appointed start time.
If a
player arrives at his starting point, ready to play, within five minutes
after his starting time in the absence of circumstances as provided in
Rule 33-7, the penalty for failure to start on time is two strokes in
stroke play. Penalty for lateness beyond
five minutes is disqualification.
10. Protests
The
Committee’s decision will be final in all matters affecting all
events. Protests must be made to the
committee within 10 minutes after the conclusion of the day’s
play.
11. Score Cards
Score cards,
signed by the marker and countersigned by the competitor, must be
returned to the official scorers as soon as possible.
12. Accommodation & Meals
A package has been arranged to cover accommodation and all
meals for participants over the three days of the event. The
total price is $ 190 per person incl. GST. Meals are provided as
outlined below.

- Breakfasts and lunches at the club on both Saturday and
Sunday.
- Welcome BBQ Dinner at the club on Friday
evening.
- Dinner at the club on Saturday
evening.
- Bus transfer from accommodation to course for Saturday night
dinner.
