Golf Victoria have determined that a change in
date and format was required for the Victorian Family Championship in an
endeavour to grow this fantastic event. It was felt that a move to a
warmer time of year at a holiday destination would encourage greater
participation.
Conducting this Championship immediately after
the Victorian Fourball Championship has detered some players from
playing.
Barwon Heads has proved a very popular Finals
venue and will remain so for 2011 when it becomes the host venue for the
Women’s and Mixed State Final. The Men’s State Final will
also be held at a top class Bellarine Peninsula Course to be announced
shortly.
Rather than play qualifying rounds players will
be able to enter the State Final in the category of their choice. Both
State Finals with be held concurrently on Friday December
2nd.
Entry forms will be available on the Golf
Victoria website in Mid October.
