About SAJG

Stuart Appleby Banner New

In 2003 Stuart Appleby Junior Golf was founded as the only not-for-profit organisation specifically designed to promote the interests of young golfers. It was one of the most exciting ventures that Victorian junior golf had ever seen.

Stuart identified a definite need, and acted promptly to bring his vision to fruition. Stuart is still one of Australia’s highest ranked golfers and one of our most recognisable sports personalities. Stuart’s excellent profile in the wider community makes him an outstanding role model for kids around the state wishing to participate in golf.

In 2011 SAJG merged with Golf Victoria to fall under the same umbrella and provide the very best opportunities for junior golfers in Victoria. The SAJG program is now ran concurrently and administered by the same staff as the Golf Victoria junior events.

Golf Victoria provides a pathway of golf events and tournaments that offers opportunities for young players starting out to nationally ranked junior players.

Many of the state's finest young players have started out in the Rookie Program, playing the "Victorian Junior Classics" and "Rookie Series" and worked their way through the pathway to achieve their golfing goals.
