2017 Melton Winners
L-R: Barry Tippett, Helen Pascoe, Kerry Scales & Butch Ridgeway

Friday 10 November
The 2017 Melton Valley Senior Amateur wound up this afternoon on a beautiful spring day. 49 senior golfers took to the par 71 layout in one of the final events of the year.

Scoring was of a high standard in both the men’s and women’s events, with many players ‘going low’ particularly in the nett events.

Port Fairy’s Kerry Scales took home the top prize in the women’s nett event. Scales retuned a fine score of 38 points for a winning margin of two points.

Buninyong’s Helen Pascoe continued her winning ways, taking out the women’s gross event with 29 gross stableford points.

Melton Valley local Butch Ridgeway took the top prize in the hotly contested men’s nett event with the remarkable score of nett 64. In second place was another Melton Valley local Bob Grant, just one shot shy after an equally impressive nett round of 65.

Returning to the winners list in the men’s gross event was prolific winner Barry Tippett (Barwon Heads). Tippett fired the low round of the day (+2) 73 to sneak home by one stroke from the duo of Andrew Hansen (Eastern) and Mick Kaufman (Melton Valley).
