Unusual cold, wet and windy February weather greeted the full field at Portsea Golf Club today for a qualifying round of the 2017 Mazda Vic Four Ball. The conditions didn’t worry all pairs with some excellent results achieved.

A brand-new Mazda 3 Maxx was up for grabs on the 16th hole, but the challenging conditions proved too much for anyone to be driving away in a brand-new car today.

Men’s Winner: Paull Duffy (Barwon Grove) & Stephen Cooke (Kooringal) - 45 pts
Men’s Runner-Up: Matthew Hunt & Andrew Pickard (Brisbane)- 43 pts
Men’s Third: Phil Thompson & William Thompson- 41 pts (countback)

Women's Winner: Jenny Foster & Louise Calvert-Jones (Mansfield) 37 pts
Women's Runner-Up: Maria Clarke & Margaret Curry (Huntingdale) - 36 pts (c/b)
Women's Third: Ruth May & Cheryl Stockdale (Lang Lang)- 36 pts

Mixed Winner: Rob & Elizabeth Kenway (Portsea & Green Acres)- 39 pts
Mixed Runner-Up: Graeme & Lyn Kenway (Yering Meadows)- 38 pts
Mixed Third: Grant & Lyn Green (13th Beach)- 37 pts
