VicHealth has announced the successful applicants for Round One of Active Club Grants 2015–16 which included four Victorian golf facilities.

505 applications were received from sporting organisations across Victoria with 262 sporting organisations funded for $746,000 through the round. VicHealth’s Active Club Grants offer funding to community sport and recreation clubs to increase or maintain participation through their club, by purchasing core equipment.

Neangar Park Golf Club received $2,000.00 for 12 sets of junior golf clubs, 12 buggies and 100 golf balls.

Pakenham and District Golf Club received $3,000.00 to invest in MyGolf & SNAG junior golf equipment and ladies’ equipment.

Red Cliffs Golf Club received $2,509.00 for eighteen 15" plastic putting cups & hole cutter, eighteen 8" plastic putting cups & hole cutter and eighteen flag poles & flags.

Meanwhile Donald Golf Club received $2,969.38 to purchase new boundary marker pegs and golf balls.

VicHealth recognises that club and organised sport is important in improving health and getting people active, and they are pleased to assist local sports clubs across the state to increase opportunities for Victorians to engage in physical activity.

Golf Victoria congratulates these four successful recipients and encourages clubs from around the state to apply for funding through these and other state government grants, which will be promoted on our grants page as they become available.

To create greater opportunities for clubs to access Active Club Grants, VicHealth is running two rounds of funding, the second of which opens Monday 1 February 2016 and closes Friday 4 March 2016.
