2016 Division 1 Champions - Huntingdale

Round 5 of Friday Women's Pennant was contested today at Victoria, Rosanna, Green Acres and Eastern.

Huntingdale is the team to beat in Division 1, defeating the previously unbeaten Victoria today 6 wins to 1. Royal Melbourne defeated Yarra Yarra 4 matches to 3, with The National defeating Commonwealth 4 matches to 3 also. The final match was also another tight contest with a 4 matches to 3 deciding margin Peninsula-Kingswood's way over Southern. 

Rosanna hosted Division 2, with Metropolitan enjoying a 6 and 1 victory over Keysborough and holding the number one undefeated position. Heidelberg defeated Kingston Heath 4 matches to 3 with Rosanna enjoying a close 4 matches to 3 win over Eastwood on home turf. Kew knocked over The Heritage 4 matches 3 to complete division two matches.

Division 3 was contested at Green Acres, with Cranbourne suffering their first loss at the hands of host venue Green Acres 5 matches to 2. Latrobe defeated Riversdale 4 matches to 3, Box Hill defeated Medway 4 matches to 3 with Woodlands rounding out division three with a strong 5 matches to 2 win over Yering Meadows.

In Division 4, play was held at Eastern and the winning teams were Centenary Park, Sandhurst, Amstel and host club Eastern. All matches were won by a margin of 6 matches to 1 aside from Centenary Park who defeated Kooringal 5 matches to 2. Eastern & Sandhurst now both sit a top the ladder in joint first position.
