Lee holds place at US Open

Minjee Lee has maintained her position in the top 10 at the Women’s United States Open at Trump National in New Jersey today.

Lee, the 21-year-old Australian, is tied-eighth through two rounds of the season’s second major, just five shots back from the lead held by China’s Shanshan Feng.

She carded an even-par 72 today that included a double bogey on the par-four 13th hole, as well as four birdies. Lee is at two-under overall.

Feng leads by two shots after he second-round of 70, just ahead of a pack that includes South Korean amateur Hye-Jin Choi, who won the Australian amateur championship just last year, while world No.1 So Yeon Ryu is well-placed along with former world No. 1 Lydia Ko.

Of the other Australians Queenslander Katherine Kirk is also having another good week at one-under, while Su Oh and Karrie Webb both made the cut at one-over.

Meanwhile on the US PGA Tour, Greg Chalmers (tied-31st) is the leading Australian through two rounds of the John Deere Classic near Chicago.

In Europe, Andrew Dodt is tied-fourth in the Scottish Open, just a shot from the lead after rounds of 67-69.
