SAJG Rookie Series underway for 2016

2016 Rookie Series Yering Meadows

The breathtaking Yering Meadows held host to the first SAJG Rookie Series event on the 2016 calendar this morning. Players were greeted with a crisp morning that eventually transformed into a stunning autumn day with the sun shining brightly and the wind non-existent.

Aryan Sharma returned today’s lowest score with a fabulous round of 39 to walk home with top spot in the U11 boys section. The lowest nett score for the day also came from the U11 boys section when Archie Alston signed for a scintillating 28.

Neangar Park’s duo of Morten Hafkamp and Jazy Roberts took out the U16 boys and girls titles with rounds of 40 and 49 respectively. Both players have now cemented their place in the fiercely contested 2016 SAJG Rookie Series final.

Gracie Larsen also joined the players on the podium when the 9 year old won the U11 girls section when she carded a round of 53.

Other winners for the day included Sam Crozier with a nett score of 32 in the U16 boys section as well as Lyn Le in the U16 girls following a round of 40 nett.

The next Rookie Series event will be played on Monday 4 April at Yarra Bend Golf.
