Melbourne’s Julienne Soo has broken a string of records in posting her first collegiate victory in the United States.

Soo, 20, took medallist honours at the Clover Cup in Arizona at the weekend, firing the lowest 54-hole score ever recorded by an Oklahoma University female golfer.

Her 13-under-par total around Longbow Golf Club gave the Sooners their first individual win in the past two years and was also a personal best score for the young Victorian.

“It's been a long road getting here, but I wouldn't have it any other way,” Soo tweeted after her rounds of 66-66-71 to break the Sooners’ record by three strokes.

“First college tournament win in the books and PB tournament score … thanks to everyone who has helped me get this far in my game.”

Soo, who in 2015 won one of two Karrie Webb Series scholarships after an outstanding series of results in Australian amateur events, won high praise from Oklahoma head coach Veronique Drouin-Luttrell for her four-stroke victory over Arizona State's Swedish star, Linnea Strom.

“Julienne played phenomenal all week. She’s a really hard worker and to see her play well is very rewarding for her,” Drouin-Luttrell told SoonerSports.com.

Soo, a member at Woodlands, is in her sophomore (second) year with the Sooners, who finished second to the powerful Arizona State University in the teams competition, but outpointing the No.3-ranked Florida State team into third overall.

The result is a great fillip for Soo, who took huge strides domestically before she left for the United States in mid-2015 including wins at the Boroondara Cup, Elvie Whiteside (Tasmania) and New South Wales Strokeplay as well as top-10 finishes at the Riversdale Cup, Joan Fisher Plate and the Lake Macquarie Amateur.
