Women's Vic Senior team reign supreme

2016 Vic Women's Senior Team
L-R- Deborah Rix, Helen Pascoe & Heather Harley

The Victorian Women's Senior team have taken out the top teams prize at the 2016 Australian Women's Senior Amateur at Ballarat GC, completing a winning 'double act' for Victoria after the Victorian Men's Senior team recently took out the teams event at the Australian Men's Senior Amateur.

The team led by tied stroke play medalist Deborah Rix (Cobden) along with Helen Pascoe (Buninyong) & Heather Harley (Kooringal) finished the teams event two strokes clear of nearest rival New South Wales on a two round aggregate total of 324.

Attention now moves to the match play component of the event, where the top 16 players from the 36 hole stroke play qualifying rounds will now compete in the knock out match play format to decide this year's Women's Australian Senior Amateur champion.

Louise Briers (Commonwealth), Anne Renehan (Maffra), June Tickell (Trafalgar), Deborah Rix, Kerrin Biddle (Thirteenth Beach) & Helen Pascoe make up a strong Victorian contingent who have qualified for the match play rounds.
