The National Golf Club: Home of the Victorian Four-Ball State Final


The Mazda Victorian Four-Ball Championship commenced in 1997 in response to a desire to create more State level events for club golfers, regardless of their geographic location, age or handicap level. The event has grown significantly since attracting 500 pairs in the inaugural year to now annually attracts around 900 competing pairs. In participation terms, the Mazda Victorian Four-Ball Championship is the largest golf event conducted by Golf Victoria and the largest amateur golf event conducted in Victoria.

In participation terms, the Victorian Four-Ball Championship is the largest golf event conducted by Golf Victoria and the largest amateur golf event conducted in Victoria.


Championship Format

The Championship is open to all Victorian golfers who are members of affiliated clubs and who have a valid Australian handicap. The Championship involves men’s, women’s, and mixed sections and is played in two parts: 
 

  • •  18-hole qualifying rounds for all entering pairs
  • •  36-hole final held over two days for 100 qualifying pairs

The Championship is a four-ball best ball handicap stableford with an entry fee applicable from each pair of players. All pairs are permitted to compete in one metropolitan qualifying round, one peninsula qualifying round and unlimited regional qualifying rounds. Approximately 17-20 qualifying rounds are held on Sunday’s and weekdays from January to early March each year. Pairs are requested to nominate their preferred options for metropolitan and peninsula qualifiers.

Qualifying Rounds Format: 18-Hole 4BBB Stableford (Men's, Women's & Mixed sections)
Eligibility: Male and Female amateur golfers with a valid GA handicap (further conditions apply)
Entry Fee: $130.00 (incl. GST) for each Metropolitan and Peninsula qualifier / $80.00 per pair (incl. GST) for each Regional qualifier
Inclusions: LIght lunch for both players, gift pack & 18 holes of golf 
Championship Finals: Monday 19 (Sorrento GC) & Tuesday 20 (The National GC) March 2018 
 
Entries Open: Monday 1 November 2017
Entries Close: 5:00pm on Friday 8 December (Metropolitan & Peninsula Qualifying Rds) or when a capacity field is reached (Regional Qualifying Rds)
